MIDNIGHT FIRE.

FAMILY ESCAPE THROUGH WINDOW. PALMERSTOX N., Monday. A wooden residence at Ashhurst, which was erected 40 years ago, was burned to the ground shortly after midnight on Saturday. It was owned by Mrs. Christina Jensen and occupied by her son, Mr. V. C. B. Jensen, his wife and their two children. Shortly before midnight Mr. and Mrs. Jensen heard the crackle of burning timbers. On opening a door leading from the bedroom into the kitchen they found the kitchen a mass of flames. Escape had to be hurriedly made through a window, the only other exit. It was impossible to save any of their personal hriongingß or tha fnrnitura.
