MOTOR SMASH.

TRUCK CQIXXDES WITH. POLE. THREE CHILDREN INJURED. A father and his three children were involved in a motor smash in Lower Victoria Street about six o'clock lass evening, when a light motor truck collided with a tramway centre pole. Mr. J. J. Sutton, the driver, _had picked up his three children, John, aged six, Albert, aged nine and Jean, and as the truck was turning into Graham Street the steering gear failed. The truck, heavily laden with clay, forcibly struck the centre pole and was extensively damaged. AH four occupants were thrown out on to the road. Mr. Sutton escaped with minor abrasions and bruises, but John Sutton sustained a fracture of the left thigh. He was removed to the hospital by the St. John Ambulance. He is progressing favourably. Albert Sutton was cut about the face and «1»i» sustained concussion. Jean Sutton received injuries to the head and left eye. The truck, owned by Mr. Sutton, was not covered by insurance.
