"SAFER IN GAOL."

IMMIGRANT'S BAB RECORD.

QUALIFYING AS HABITUAL.

"Apparently, NOrris, you are a very desirable immigrant. You arrived hera in 1921 and have spent most of your time in gaol since then." With sarcasm in his voice, Mr. Justice Blair made this observation in the Supreme Court this morning, when sending Roy Norris to gaol for five years on two charges of breaking, entering and theft.

"You have previous convictions against you and you' are rapidly qualifying to I be made an habitual criminal," added his Honor. "Apparently you are safer when in gaol. The only thing I can do with you is to impose a substantial term of imprisonment. Three years is no good, so we will try five years I this time."
