MR. HOLLAND'S CAMPAIGN.

FIGHTING SPEECH AT WAIROA.

UNANIMOUS VOTE OF THANKS,

(By Telegraph.—Preat Association.)

WAIROA (H. 8.), this day.

Mr. H. £. Holland (Leader of the Opposition) addressed one of the largest political meetings ever held in Wairoa and received a most enthusiastic reception. His vigorous fighting speech was frequently punctated with applause. He followed closely on the lines of his New Plymouth address, castigating tho Reform Government for its sins of commission and omission, condemning high interest rates, alleging that the Government is in the hands of the Associated Banks and financial institutions, which dictated its financial policy, strongly Criticising the tax reductions as benefiting the wealthy landowners, asserting that land speculation and aggregation are encouraged by the Government, and that it had wrecked the dairy co-opera-tive marketing scheme. He outlined the Labour party's platform, stressing its land policy, and advocated the under* taking of remunerative public works at sandard wages for the relief of unemployment. He ridiculed the Government's system of accounting and roundly | condemned* it for playing with the I Licensing Bill. He received a unanimous vote of thanks.
