THE COMMUNITY SUNSHINE ASSOCIATION.

A general meeting of the Ladies' Auxiliary was held in the Community Sunshine Building, Nelson Street, on Wednesday, when there was a large attendance present. The president welcomed the members to the first general meeting to be held in the building, under the auspices of the association. She predicted that it was the forerunner of many future meetings to be held for the benefit of young people. In the new quarters there is ample room for many activities and much interesting and useful work will be done. In addition to running a Community Club for the children, it is proposed to conduct a Sunshine School. A certain section of the building has been set aside for this purpose. It is hoped to conduct the school on modern lines and make it practically open air. In addition to educational and medical attention it will give a certain number of meals. The plans for the alterations are under way. Dr. Ada Patterson, Director o, School Hygiene for the Dominion, visited the site, accompanied by Dr. Hughes, and both expressed their sympathy and gratification that such a school was to be established. This wi'l take a considerable sum of money, which is immediately needed if it is to open in the New Year. Furnishings for the building are also needed and gifts for this purpose will be srratefully acceptcd The plans for the forthcoming Padd\'s Market, to be held in December, were discussed, and Mrs. .T.
