MAILS FOR ENGLAND.
CLOSE NEXT FRIDAY. . - * SEND " BRETT'S AKNVAI^ ' '-y- ■ . f Thoso who wish to send to England or the Continent a really appropriate N.Z. souvenir for Xmas, still have time to catch, the mail with copies of "Brett's Annual." Already large numbers of the annuals are on the way to Wellington, to catch the Port Fremantlc, which leaves there on Monday, Mails by that vessel close at Auckland'at seven o'clock this evening. A further mail, still in time for Xmas at Home, will close at Auckland at 3 p.m. on Friday next, but as the Ruahine, by which the mails will be carried, goes to Wellington and Napier for further loading, the .Post Office is trying to -make arrangements for a late mail to catch the vessel at the latter port. It would be unwise, however, to defer posting to the last minute. Although there are letter mails, via America, at later dates, few people can write a letter which would contain as much interest as is supplied by Brett's Xmas number. Besides articles and stories by the best N.Z. authors, there are illustrations which tell more at a glance than pages of descriptive writing. New arrivals who wish to let their friends know what sort of a country they are living in, or New Zealanders determined to prove that the claims they have made on behalf of their homeland are not exaggerated, will find Brett's Xmas number just what they want. Headers should certainly examine it before purchasing any other souvenir. =
