FLAT HOMECOMING.

Flagship Australia Arrives

Amid Silence.

NO DEMONSTRATIONS.

(Received 12 noon.)

SYDNEY, this day.

The' flagship Australia arrived and berthed at Circular Quay, Sydney, at 5.35 this morning. The sun was just rising and about 70 relatives and friends of the crew waved handkerchiefs. Otherwise there was no demonstration and even the passing ferry boats were silent. The Australia's crew must have wondered whether they were in a foreign port, so painfully flat and unostentatious was their homecoming to the largest city; of the Commonwealth. There will be public inspection for the next few days.
