MR. JUSTICE FRAZER.
TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT.
SUPREME COURT BENCH,

Tlie president of the Arbitration Court, Mr. Justice Frazer, has "been appointed a temporary judge of the Supreme Court. It is understood that there will be no sitting of the Arbitration Court from the time that his Honor takes up his new duties until next February at least. Mr. Justice Frazer was born in Dunedin in 1880, and received his education at Kelson College. On deciding on a legal career he continued his studies at Otago University and Canterbury University College, obtaining the LL.B. degree in 1905. In 1908 he was successful in the examinations for the Bachelor of Arts degree. The following year he secured the Master of Arts degree with honours in history and economics. Mr. Justice Fraier practised in Hawke's Bay, and later in Christchurch, until June, 1911, when he was appointed a stipendiary magistrate. This position he held principally at Auckland and Wellington until 1919, when he acted in tlie responsible positions of chairman of the Public Service Appeal Board, and also of the Post and Telegraph Appeal Board. The year 1920 saw him appointed to the post of Assistant Public Service Commissioner, and in January, 1921, he was appointed president of tlie Court of Arbitration.
