NATIONAL TENNIS.
SOUTH ISLAND TEAM.
TO BE SELECTED WEDNESDAY. CBy Tcle<»~j»»»b — Snccinl to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. No selection has yet been made of the South Island tennis team to play* the English team in Christchurch on Friday and Saturday. The team may not be selected until Wednesday evening. Bray, of Otago, is not available. G. Ollivier and C. Angas, of Canterbury, are certainties. The other two will be selected from D. F. Glanville (Canterbury), R. Guy (Otago), T. W. Patterson (Canterbury) and D. C. Johnston (South Canterbury), On present form Glanville is much the strongest of those four. Guy's selection as fourth man would be regarded as a nice compliment to Otago. Johnston yesterday joined in doubles with some of the leading players. Guy, Otago's second man, who extended Angas in the interprovincial match (the third set going to B—6), is said to be a spectacular player, who should give a good account of himself. He will arrive in Christchurch on Tuesday, and will have a try-out with Ollivier.
