"DISCREDITABLE METHODS."

"There is absolutely no truth in the statement." was the emphatic rejoinder of the Hon. .T. A. Young, Reform candidate for Hamilton, when he was asked at Puketaha on Saturday night whether he thought it right that the Government party should accept £50.000 from the brewers. Electioneering methods of that nature are no credit to the people who use them," said Mr. Young. As a member of the Government he emphatically denied that there was any truth in the suggestion. Personally he would dissociate himself from a political party which depended on such a course for its fighting funds. (Applause.)
