QUESTION of motor truck fees.

WELLINGTON, Saturday.

A reply to the request of the New Zealand Master Carriers' Federation for A reduction in motor taxation on heairy vehicles, which the Industries and Commerce Committee of the House has recommended, has been received by the federation from the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. K. S. Williams.

The Minister states that the Government has decided to call a conference early in the new year of representative* of motor vehicle owners, county councils, municipalities, the Main Highways Board, the Public Works Department, and possibly other interested for the purpose of discussing motor taxation in all its aspects and the motor truck regulations, particularly with a view to assisting the Government to determine all issues in dispute prior to heavy traffic fees becoming due next year.
