Partly Charred Body Found
By Roadside.

PARIS, October 18.
A roadside mystery murder has been discovered near Moutiers recalling the Maestorino outrage. The partly charred body of a man named Lazier (25) was found, one hand clutching a tuft of hair, with, nearby, a neatly folded pile of clothing and a paraffin bottle. There were numerous footprints but no signs of wounds. Strangulation was the cause of death.
A stonebreaker saw in the vicinity at midnight a strange light like a large, waving torch.
Malnterino was a jeweller who confessed, after ai*,- examination lasting nearly" 20 hours, to the murder of a man named Truphene, who was found bound and burned, by the roadside at Melun. The murder was committed in Paris, and the body conveyed to where it was found in a car.

NEW YORK, October 18.
Another weird murder in the notorious Tenderloin district -of the city has engaged the police. The nude body of Mrs. , Harry Wolch, the hostess of a leading Broadway night club, was found in her luxurious apartment with the throat slashed. A knife, a gun and a blood-stained flat iron were lying beside the body.
