(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
CAMBRIDGE, this dav.
At the monthly meeting last night the borough council approved of a report brought down by a special committee in connection with the provision of a complete sewerage scheme for the boroujh at an estimated cost of about £20.000. pie central portion of the business area is already served with sewerage, but it is felt that the time has arrived nhes the whole borough should have up-to-date drainage. It is estimated that the individual cost for the service will be approximately £17 10/, also that interest and sinking fund will be provided for by an annual charge of 2/10 per service per annum, plus a rate of approximately one farthing in the pound on the unimproved value of the whole borough. Owing to connections being compulsory the committee's proposals include the raising of a further sum of £3000 to assist ratepayers with private installations. It is intended to hold a public meeting shortly if the poll taken is favourable.
