PAPAKURA ORPHANS' CLUB.

The Papakura Orphans' Club met last evening in the Paragon Theatre, when the official visitors were the Birkenhead and Xorthcote Orphans' Club. The chairman was past-president Bro. W. C-. Wood. Amongst the visitors present were: Bro. J. D. Crawford, president of the Kindred Clubs' Association of New Zealand and secretary of the Auckland Orphans' Club, president Bro. J. Letherbridge, of the Birkenhead and Northcote Orphans' Club and secretary Bro. Lawson and vicepresident Bro. Harris, and treasurer Bro. Wernham, of the Birkenhead Orphans' Club. A very warm welcome wa« extended to all visitors by the chairman, and was very ably replied to by Bro. J. Letherbridge. president of the visiting club. Tbe local orchestra rendered several very choice selections and played several popular tunes. During the evening the president, Bro. W. K. Francis, announced I that the next official visitinz club would

be the Otahnhu Orphans' Club. The chairman made a special appeal to the bros. present on behalf of the widow and family of the late Bro. Cater, late conductor of the Auckland Orphans' Club Orchestra. Bro. J. D. Crawford presented a very handsome photo of Bro. Len Kelly to the Papakura Club. The following artists rendered very capable service to what constituted a very high-class programme:—The Orchestra, "Under the Double Eagle," "Dew, Dew, Dewy Day," "Popular Airs"; Bro. Kearvell (Papakura Club), gong, "The Merry Monk"; Bro. Sol. Wood, recitations, "The Caretaker'" and "'lf You Like"; Bro. Hunter, son?. "I Did Xot Know" and "A Hundred Pipers"'; Bro. Wilson, song, "Plymouth Ho"; Bro. Len Kernot, song; Bro. Graham Holder humorous items.
