Soviet Objects To British Vessel. RECOVERY OF L 55 CREW. (Australian Press Assn. — L'liitrU .Service.i (Rpceiycfl 11.30 a.m.) MOSCOW, August 22. The British Government has inquiied through the Norwegian mission Ili<* possibility of sending a warship to transfer the bodies to England. Th>Norwegian Government was informed that the Soviet dkl not object to the arrival of a warship belonging to a friendly nation or a British merchantman, but could not consent to a British warship entering Soviet territorial waters. RETURN OF BODIES TO 3RITAJN (Australian Press Assn. —Unite J Service.) (Received 11.30 a.m.) MOSCOW, August 22. A report that the Soviet has notreplied to the British Government's request for permission to remove the bodies of the crew found in the submarine L 55, sunk hi the Baltic in 1919 and now raised, is denied. The Soviet Government, it is officially stated, did reply stating that "expecting the British Government would wish to transfer to the Motherland the bodies of the victims of the L 55 the Soviet authorities from the yery beginning took appropriate measures and were careful to preserve the personal belongings of victims in order to hand them over to their relatives."
