ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.

THIS MORNING'S WORK. Beautiful weather prevailed this morning for training work at Ellerslie. No. 2 grass track was open, and there was a fair amount of interesting work. The two-year-old track was also available. The going was inclined to be on the dead side. No. 2 Grass Track. Thursby and War Officer were the nrst to work, running home from the four furlong post in 555. Thev were on terms at the finish. Optimistic sprinted four furlongs in out l " sß ' and was going nicely throughEager Rose started off slowly from the six furlong post, and finished up her task easily by running the last halfmile in 595. Kawamga was timed to run four furlongs in 565. She couid have done better. Double Mint and Template did strong work over six furlongs, completing the last half-mile in 55 l-ss. Sulla ran home from the half-mile post in 54 4-ss, and Pekatahi ran a furlong less in 41 3-ss. i Llewellyn did strong work, finishing up over the last four furlongs in 575. Winsome Boy and Te Monev strode over six furlongs in 1.28 without being hurried. ° Killute and Golden Krist were on terms at the finish of six furlongs, which occupied 1.21 3-5. Town Teller and the Cvnic three-year-old filly in A. Julian's stable sprinted home from the half-mile peg in 03 4-ss. r 6

Modest Boy and Winsome Girl were not doing their best to run six furlon<ns in 1.27 4-5. ° Hannibal and Blue Spear were associated in a half-mile sprint which thev covered in 52 3-ss. Lineroo was timed to run six furlong in 1.23 2-5. ® Yaqui cantered round to the threefurlong po«st and sprinted home in 395. _ &' r Russell beat Avon Court over a «ix-furlong journey, which took 1.20 3-5. The best gallop of the morning. Miss Alma was sent over a round, which she tvCeomplished in 134. Corinax was allotted a half-mile task, but was not after time. Clockwork wa« sent over a round which he covered in 1.55 2-5. Master Doon and. Mon Star ran home from the four-furlong poet in 545, and there was little between them at the finish. Two-Year-Old Track. Lady Susan (by Surveyor-Lady Potoa) and Blue Gray were allowed to stride along over four furlongs, running the distance in 59 2-ss. They were together at the finish and were not hurried. Norval Tea, Neil and Bennie were associated in a three-furlong sprint. The first-named began best and was always in front. The time occupied was 39s and they finished as named. The Jumpers. Piet (Regan) was given his first lesson over the pony hurdles and gave an encouraging display. Potoanui (Sharkey), Pompeius (Regan) and Yum Yum (Chrystal) were schooled over the sod wall, double and stonewall. The trio *11 fenced well, and repeated the performance. Potoanui and Pompeius put plenty of dash into their work, while Yum Yum, apart from hitting the first fence of the double on the second occasion, also jumped welL Sir Archie, Fernden, Huephano, Importer and Marble Mount were worked on the sand track.
