EXPENSIVE LIVING.
£1800 SPENT IN 18 MONTHS. MAX FIXED FOR DRUXKEXXESS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MORRIXSVILLE. Frid?v. "Eighteen months ago this man was worth £1800. and now he has not a penny,' said Constable Heeps when a middle-aged man, William McKenna, of W alton. described as a carpenter, appeared before Justices in the Morrinsville Court to-day charged with drunkenness and wilfully breaking crockery. The constable said the man had been violently drunk and had threatened to burn down the house of William Xixon. where he boarded, and then to commit suicide. The man said he had £5000 cr.minsr to him at th<= end of this month from his father's estate. "What he will do when he gets it I don't know." said the constable.
A fine of £1 was imposed on the fir=t charee. and accused was ordered to come up for sentence when called unon for the second offence. McKermn a<rreed to take out a prohibition order against himself.
