LABOUR PARTY'S SELECTION THREE WORKING FARMERS. MR. W. H. CHETHAM FOR MARSDEN. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. The following candidates have been -elected to contest seats on behalf of the Labour party: — Tauranga.—"Mr. D. C. Chalmers. Marsden.—Mr. W. H. Chetham. Masterton.—Mr. R. Roberts. Waitomc.—Mr. C. Croall. With the exception of Idr. Chalmers, all the candidates are working farmers. Mr. Chalmers is a barrister and solicitor practising in Whakatane. and was for some years Mayor of the town. Mr. Croall i- a dairy farmer at Mahoemii. in the King Country. He is a successful cattle breeder and at present is running the Crait'ollachie stud farm. Mr. Chetham is farming at Takahiwai. on the Whatigarei Harbour, He is chairman of the Settlers' Association there. He has always been a keen student of social and economic questions. An Englishman by birth, he has travelled extensively in the United States and was until 1911 a member of the engineers' and railway associations in that country. In 1011 he came to New Zealand, and since that date has been farming in the Marsden electorate. Mr. Roberts is a well-known dairy farmer in the Wairarnna. and for some years was president of the Dairy Farmers' Union.
