DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) PAHIATUA, this day. An inquest was held to-day into the death of B. R. Croad, a Ballance farmer, under an anaesthetic in hospital. The evidence showed that the. operation was imperative, and extreme care was taken throughout. The patient underwent an operation on Saturday morning, for double hernia, and another was necessary on Monday night. He collapsed when it was practically over. The second operation was absolutely necessary, otherwise the patient could not have lived. He was a personal friend of one of the medical men concerned. One doctor said a case of this nature was his first experience in ten thousand. The verdict was in accordance with the medical evidence.
