Entrican, last evening, in introducing the distinguished English lecturer to her first audience in Auckland. lam glad to know," remarked the visitor, "that when I return to England I shall be able to sav on the authority of my present chairman that the women run New Zealand. I am especially glad to be able to do so because the country is so well run." After the laughter had subsided Miss Royden established herself in favour with' the male section of her audience by assuring them that the most showy parts in the drama of life would continue to be J cast for men. r lliis time there was applause.
