Battlo Colours was a hot favourite, but after being prominent for seven furlongs faded out, finishing last. Amor and Bronstrll led Moratorium and Rotor till near the straight, when Rotor drew out fi out a bunched field. Rotor won comfortably by a length, Moratorium beating Amor by a head, with Sir Roy a neck awny. Then came Thorndale and Fresco. The winner's performance was a good one.
In a lfcld of 2S the Grand Light-Prince Chimes bracket was an easy favourite for the Kowai Trot. Grand Light was always prominent, having Prompter and Awaiti alongside him for a mile and aquarter. Prompter then dropped out. The other pair were together at the entrance to the straight, Awaiti outstaying Grand Light and winning by a length and a-half. Mussolini was six lengths away, with Liberty Hall and Little Author next.
Waihemo was favourite for the Seadown Hack in a good betting race. Lvtup and Waihemo led for four furlongs when Claymore joined Waihemo. Before the straight was reached Claymore was beaten, and Waihemo led to tho straight and won easily by two lengths from Solfello, who stalled off Thurso by a neck. Waihemo won well, hut Solfello ran a good race, after getting off badly. Second Leg of Double. Gold Mint just headed Zaragoza in favouritism in the Amberley Handicap. Except that Gold Mint was a trifle slow, th<3 field raced in line for a hundred yards, when Sagittarius went on from Polydeetes. At the home turn Zaragoza was third, and she led to the straight and stalled off Gold Mint by a g head. Sprinkler moved up at the home turn and finished two lengths away, with Sagittarius fourth.

Malmsey followed them to the straight, where Solfello ran wide. Malmsey won decisively by a length from Amor, with Atone two lengths away,-and Lancer close up. Malmsey stayed much too well for tho others.
