RETAILERS REFUSE PREFERENCE

HAMILTON, this day. Retailers in Hamilton recently received a circular letter from a" body 'styling itself tlie Public Service Discount Association, which said it had 500 members, and asked what concessions the retailers were prepared to allow members of the dissociation, in consideration of receivin.tr their patronage The Retailers' Association took the matter up. and after a full discussion the following resolution was passed unanimously: "That this meeting of the Hamilton Retail Traders' Association cannot affirm the principle of extending preference to any ono section . of tho community at the expense of the remainder; accordingly, it cannot accede to the request of the Public Service Dis count Association "
