BOARDERS CROWDED OUT.
GOING TO WAITAKI AND
WANGANUI.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day,
"Boys who otherwise would come to Hamilton are going to Waitaki and Wanganui because we have not the accommodation available for bonders," remarked Mr. E. Wilson, principal, i;t a meeting of the Hamilton High School Board of Governors, yesterday. The speaker, added that about 30 boys were at present boarded out privately in the town. Had the school the necessary accommodation. lie felt sure they would have 80 or 100 country boys in residence here.
It was stated that the position was acute for both boys and girls. The Abbotsford Hostel for Girls was full, and further buildings were urgently necessary.
At previous meetings repeated -r- \ enee had been made to the unfairness with which Hamilton has been treated by the Department, cainpared with the treatment of other towns. While many thousands of pounds have been granted for hostel to other 'nigh school boards, Hamilton has received nothing.'.' ' .-U -<t A committee is to wait on the Minister with regard to the matter.
