NIGHT MAIL TRAIN.
CHRISTCHURCH TO DUNEDIN.
CHRISTCHURCH, this day
Investigations into the question of running a night mail train between Christchurch and Dunedin have been made during the last two days by Mr. D. Rodie, of the commercial branch of the Railway Department, and Mr. S. E. Fay. operating assistant at the head office. Exhaustive inquiries were made in Christchurch and Dunedin, and the two officers returned to Wellington last evening to formulate their report, on which action will be taken if their report is favourable to the proposal.
