AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET.

TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE.

Business was good this morning on 'Change, a variety of stocks changing hands. Bank of New South Wales shares sold at £48 10/. and buyers of Bank of Australasia advanced their offers to £14 6/, which brought in a seller at £14 12/6. Commercial Bank of Sydney shares could be placed at £26 15/, but sellers want £27 2/. National Bank of Australasia shares, firmed to buyers at £18 2/6, and Union Bank of Australia sold at £14 17/6.

South British Insurance shares were placed at the noon call at £3 1/, and Wilsons Cement at £1 19/. Further sales were made of New Zealand Breweries debentures at £1 3/5. Transactions also took place in Electrolytic Zinc, ordinary issue at £1 11/, Kauri Timber at £1 1/, and Wellington Woollen, ordinary shares at £6 4/9.

Sales of Holdens Motors took place at the afternoon call yesterday at £1 10/9, and subsequently transactions were reported in Sanford, Ltd., ordinary issue at £1, and Taranaki Oil at 9/10. At the noon call to-day 9/ was accepted for Oil shares

Coal shares are still in good demand. Pukemiro's could be placed at £3 4/, and West Port Stockton ordinary issue are now wanted at 3/. All three issues of Hikuranpi Coal were inquired for at late rates. Westports are wanted at £1 9/9, and Taupiri at £1 6/, the latter being ex dividend. Renown shares are easier, being offered at 14/3, and Waipas could be got for 14/6. Perdriau Rubber shares are wanted at £1 13/3, and Morris Hedstroms at £1 0/3.

Sale was recorded this morning of Government 5% per cent loan, inscribed maturing 1936, at £101.
