SERIOUS CHARGES.
AGAINST ANGLICAN MINISTER ACCUSED MEETS WITH ACCIDENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. When the case against an Anglican minister, aged 49, adjourned last week on a charge of indecent assault on another male, was called to-dav before Mr. E. Page. S.M., Mr. A. Gray, K.C., who appeared on accused's behalf, said he regretted he had received information during the last few minutes that accused had met with a serious accident. Dr. Brown had been called in at 10.30 a.m., when it was found that accused had fallen and broken his thigh. He had been sent to the hospital, where he was likely to remain for three months. He asked for a formal remand until the position was definite.
Mr. Macassey suggested that the patient's condition be ascertained after a fortnight.
Mr. Page agreed and a remand was granted for a fortnight, with a further application, if necessary, then to be made.
