PAPATOETOE DISTRICT.

TOWN CLERK APPOINTED. The Papatoetoe Town Board has appointed Mr. William Young, of Dominion Road, to the position of town clerk of the district. Forty-eight applications were received by the board, the successful applicant being a man with considerable experience of local body work in the Opotiki district, and also on the staff of an Auckland legal firm. Mr. Young formerly held the position of clerk to the Opotiki County Council, the Huntress Creek Drainage Board, and secretary of the Opotiki A. and P. Association, the local repatriation committee, Opotiki, and also the Opotiki branch of the Farmers' Union. He has been a justice of the peace since 1920.
