PRESIDENT'S AT TE RAPA.
ROYAL TEA LOOKS THE PART.
The fine finishing effort for winch Royal Tea was responsible in the open sprint on the second day of the Avondale meeting was so attractive that Mr. C. M. Emanuel's chestnut has only to take his place in the President's Handicap—the second leg of the double—at Te Rapa on Saturday as those looking for the most likely winner will not pass by the son of Tea Tray and Duchess Eudorus. The field is about the same strength as he defeated at Avondale and though he has 8.11 against the 8.3 he carried laat week, an 81b rise should not prove beyond his ability, because there was a lot of merit in his win. He was badly placed early, and even at the home turn his chance looked anything but good. From the v home turn he put in great work and ran past those in front of him til'l et the judge, he had half to spare. It was a very impressive win and 'one backers are not likely to overlook next Saturday.
