RAILWAY TO TAURANGA.

HEAVY TRAPnc IN GOODS.

MORE PASSENGERS CARRIED.

(From Orj Own Correspondent.)

TAURANGA, Saturday.

Judging from the heavy traffic in goods and stock on the East Coast railway, the outlook from the Railway Department's position should be satisfactory. Passenger traffic, in spite of the fact that the servicc is so far not as good as may be looked for when the line is handed over by the Public Works Department, also continues to be heavy. The claim for a further extension of the line eastward from Taneatua should received added strength when traffic is so heavy at this stage before development as a result of the railway connection has had time to take place.
