SHOPS AND EASIER.
Easter !s again on us, and T want to if nothing can be done to remove the injustice of us smallf grocers having to close our shop? for four days while fruiterers, confectioners and bakers, who all sell the very same lines as we do, remain open. Under what Act was the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter Monday made a public holiday and why can the butcher, baker, etc., keep open and not the poor grocer! A VICTIM.
[The Grocers' Award of the Arbitration Court provides that all shops shall close or each of the days described as holidays f® assistants. There are three liolidavs at Eastr—Good Friday, Easter Eve and Easter Monday. Grocers have always been able to apply the Court for exemption from any of the closing hours fixed by awards and they w*y new apply to a magistrate for exemption.--
