RETURNING FROM SAMOA.

CRUISER AND OIL TANKER. DIOMEDE DUE ON MONDAY. Cabled advice from Suva states that H.M.s. Diomede, accompanied by the Admiralty tanker Nucula, left there this morning for Auckland. The Diomede is expected to arrive on Monday.

It is expected in some quarters that H.M.s. Dunedin, at present at Wellington, will be dispatched to Samoa to take the place of the Diomede in watching the situation there. So far, there is no official confirmation of this.
