ROTORUA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
(From Our Own Correspondent) ROTORUA, Thursday. A meeting of the council was held last night, the Mayor (Mr. T. McDowell) presiding.
Bay of Plenty Development League.— Notification was received that the next meeting of the league would be held at Whakatane on April 19. • A Petition was received from resident# in Pukuatua Street, asking the council to form the footpaths. Councillor Jackson gave notice of motion calling attention to the urgent need for improved sanitary arrangements at the native villages of Ohinemutu and Whaka.
After considerable discussion it was agreed that a committee of the council meet the Arawa Trust Board and if possible the Native Minister, and a report be furnished at the next meeting of the council.
