EVERYBODY'S THEATRE.

In no picture which he has produced has that master director, Cecil B. de Mille, shown such artistry as he does in "The King of Kings," now in it* third successive week at Everybody's Theatre. Scenes which have been made on a scale of lavishnees never even equalled, are to be found in plenty in this fine picture. Colour has been used in some of them, such as that of the court of Mary of Magdala, and '"mob" scenes. One of the finest in the whole production (according to the leading American critics), is that of the Garden of Gethsemane; a fine piece of work in itself is the first scene in which the Saviour appears. This is done through the eyes of a little blind girl who comes to Him to be healed; as she begins to see, there is a radiant light, which, when it becomes more and more clear, is seen to be Christ. Many wellknown incidents from the Gospel story, such a 6 "Suffer little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not, for such is the Kingdom of Heaven," "I am the resurrection and the light." and "He among you who is without sin, let him first cast a stone,'' have been reverentlv and impressively handled. Publication of the cast which plays "The King of Kings"' is forbidden by the New Zealand Government film censor, but it may be said that no picture yet released has been so well peopled.

MOSCOVITCH SEASON. In order that elaborate alterations may be effected to His Majesty's Theatre the Maurice Moscovjtch season, which was originally to begin on Wednesday last, does not open until Saturday, April 7. A large team of electricians, mechanists, painters, decorators and carpet layers are at present in complete control of His Majesty s Theatre, and on Easter Saturday playgoers who assemble to welcome Mr. Moscovitch will realise that His Majesty's will hold its own with any up-to-date theatre in Australia or New Zealand. The proscenium and private boxes have been re-decorated, new carpet has been installed iu the whole of the dress circle and 6talls. and new electric effects have been installed throughout the theatre. The back portion of the theatre has also been thoroughly renovated, and the lighting effects have been brought right up to date. Xew seats have been ordered for the dress circle and stalk, but these may not arrive in time to be installed before Saturday week. The plans for The Ringer" will be opened on Tuesday next.
