AEROPLANE HEARD AT SEA.

OVERSEA STEAMER'S REPORT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Secretary of the General Post Office has received the following message from the superintendent of radio, Auckland:— "The City of Edinburgh reports, via the BenK.ua, that an aeroplane engine was iieaid by the ship's company tlii* morning, although nothing could be seen of any plane. The vpssel is bound from Panama to Brisbane and the position at the time of the incident was 28 degrees 30 minutes south, 169 degrees 51 minutes east." The position indicated is about 100 miles from Norfolk Island. The Benecia, which relayed the message, is bound from New York to Sydney.
