PALMERS TON N., th is day. The second cricket match played for the Havvke Cup since Manawatu obtained possession of the trophy commenced this morning, Southern Hawke'a Bay being the challengers. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat. Their opening was disastrous, Wilder goin<* out first over, and Smith a few minutes later—two wickets for two runs.

Southern Hawke'e Bay were dismissed for 87 runs, of which Inglis scored 32. Deiderich took four tickets for 42 runs McVicar three for 21, McDonald two for 23.
