"SAVE THE BABIES."
PLUMMET SOCIETY'S APPEAL STREET COLLECTION IN PROGRESS. The Plunket Society is making its annual appeal to the public to.-day. A collection is being made in Queen Street ,and throughout the suburbs, and the ladies in charge of the various stations in the city area report that the appeal for financial aid is being responded to with the; geberosity for which Auckland ,is so well known. Stalls decorated with and displaying the familiar poster of the stork bearing a baby in a sheet suspended from its bill, were the headquarters of the collectors. As in past years, those making a contribution are given small parchment badges, which depict a mother and child, circled" by the legend, "To help the mothers, and save the babies." Mrs. W. H. Parkes, president of the Auckland branch .of the Plunket Society, is in charge of the appeal. . '
