MINE INSPECT fED. (British Official Win* less.) (Received 11.30 nj m.) RUGBY; March 28. King Amanullah of Afghi inistan spent this morning visiting tb industrial works at Manchester. At 1 he factory of Metropolitan Viekers Electa ical Company he saw some of the lai-g est electrical plant yet manufactured i n this country and was shown tlic lat test electrical devices. Later the King journeyed in a launch down the M;u (Chester Ship Canal towards Liverpool.
The launch carried an 'than flag and each ship berthed in th<* canal dipped her colours as it passed. The canal banks were lined at differ* n)t points by groups of people, who cheep ,td and waved to His Majesty, and the f .pig, standing on the captain's bridge. • acknowledged the cheers by raising his b a,t.
The launch went as 1« r as Barton Viaduct, which was swung back so that he could see this marvel of modern engi-
neering. In the afternoon r Amanullah visited a coal mine on thi ? outskirts of Manchester and inspector I the mine working.
