LOCAL BODIES.
TAKAPUNA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The Takapuna Borough Council met last night, the Mayor (Mr. J. W. Williamson) presiding.
Bathing in Lake.—Reports were received that several persons had been seen bathing in the lake, which was the water supply for the North Shore. It was decided that the reports be forwarded to the North Shore Water Board.
Door-to-Door Collections.—-Complaints that unauthorised persons who posed as ex-service men, were making door-to-door collections, were contained in a letter from the Takapuna Ex-Service Men's Club. Since it had no legal power to act, the council decided that the police be asked to keep a look-out for such misrepresentations. Silent Policemen.—Following upon a recent accident, the council have placed a silent policeman at Hall's Corner, and it is proposed to put another at the Hauraki Road corner.
