WELLINGTON, Wednesday

Fanny Phillips, a widow, claimed compensation from the Government for the death of her son, Dennis Phillips, who was killed while in the employ of the Public Works Department at Glenhope, Nelson. Plaintiff told the Arbitration Court that she was partially dependent on her son's earnings. The Court awarded her £156 and costs.
