DANGER FROM ABOVE.

Air Bombs Could Blow Up

Largest Ships.

NAVY EXPERIMENTS.

(Received 10.30 a.m.)

LONDON, March 21

Mr. Bridgeman, First Lord of the Admiralty, told Commander Kenworthy (Lab., Hull) in the House of Commons that experiments were being carried out with models in tanks, to test the effects on the hulls of ships of aircraft bombs designed to explode under water. American experiments were also being watched. It was not in the public interest to reveal the results.

Commander Ken worthy: Are you •ware that American experiments have shown that large bombs from aircraft could diuable and sink the most modern ships? Are experiments with models in tanks sufficient?

Mr. Bridgeman: All our experiments are not made with models in tanks. —(A. and N.Z. and Sydney "Sun.")
