ARBITRATION COURT.
EMrLOYERS' REPRESENTATIVES
Changes in the representation of the employers of the Dominion on the Court of Arbitration have been foreshadowed for some time past and are upon the eve of happening (says the Christchurch "Press").
Mr. William Scott, who has been the employers' representative on the Court for a number of years, is about to retire from that position, and the Labour Department very shortly will be calling for nominations to fill the vacancy. It is understood that the executive of the New Zealand Employers' Federation recently considered the matter and unanimously resolved to recommend industrial unions of employers to nominate for the position of employers' representative on the Court Mr. George T. Booth, of Cliristchurch.
If Mr. Booth is appointed to the Court it will be for the balance of the existing terra of three years, that is, till February, 1929.
In place of Mr. B. L. Hammond, who recently resigned his position as deputyemployers' representative on the Court, the industrial unions of employers will be recommended by the executive of the federation to • nominate Mr. Sydney E. Wright, secretary of the Auckland Employers' Association. Mr. Wright has had a very long experience of Arbitration Court work.
