UNION COMPANY'S DECISION.

(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) "WELLINGTON, Tuesday.

The directors of the Union Steam Ship Company have decided that the time has arrived when it is necessary to consider the placing of an .order for another steamer for the WellingtonLyttelton passenger service, a vessel somewhat larger than the turbine steamer Wahine,.to provide more passenger accommodation than that vessel.

This decision has been arrived at in view of the growing passenger traffic between Wellington and Lyttelton, and a desire to keep ahead of requirements.
