TAUMARUNUI EWE FAIR.

TAUMAR UNUI, Tuesday
At the Taumarunui annual ewe fair this morning a good entry ot .ewes came forward. Considering the recent dry weather, the ewes arrived in capital condition, and this fact was favourably commented on by visiting buyers and farmers. Buyers were present from the Jxing Country. Waikato, North Auckland, Taihape, Marton, Wan"nnni. and Pahnertson North districts. The yarding was well up to expectations, ,iud bidding was brisk from the outset. 'i'|,e sale was most satisfactory for farmers. Iligh prices ruled, being a good advance on last vear's prices. In some cases old ewes made £1, whereas sheep of the same quality made only 30/ last year. In most cases the rise would be equaJ to between 3/ and 4/ on last year s iates. A nice line of T25 two-tooth ewes mane 111 ' They were from Mr. K. M. Eicksoni s nroperbv, Waimiha. For 128 four-year-old ewes Mr. F. W. Rutherford, Otaugiwai, Topped the market lor this quality, llie animals made 28/1.
