EXPORT TO AUSTRALIA
The first butter to reach Melbourne front New Zealand this season was 1500 boxes by the Manuka. Some 2000 boxes were also delivered at Sydney. Concerning shipments of butter to Australia from Nov Zealand, the Melbourne "Argus" states with regard to the proposed increase of tariff to Gd per lb that opinion in the trade is that imports will be heavv this season as the increased tariff cannot operate until the middle of .lune. and speculators will take the opportunity of securing stocks in view of the possibility of a firmer market in Australia after thaitime.
