MOTORIST KILLED.
CAR SKIDS OVER BANK. WIFE AND CHILDREN ESCAPE. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREf, this day. A ictor Beeston. a well known resident of Whangarei, was killed instantly near \\ hanauaki on Sunday afternoon when his motor car capsized. With Mr. Beeston in the car were his wife and three children and Mr. A. C. Stewart. When about two and a-half miles from Whananaki the catskidded on the road, which was grcasv after a shower of rain, and then went over a bank, turning a double somersault. Mr. Beeston's skull was fractured. None of the others in the car was' injured. Mr. Beeston was .">3 years of age. He was a native of Thames, and spent his early years at Devonport. After being some years at sea, he came to Whangarei about 30 years ago. He was formerly a weli-known Rugbv player, and later bpeame a champion bowler. He was an original member of the tire brigade, and for several rears was deputy-superintendent. He was accorded a fireman's funeral to-dav.
