K>en interest was taken by the metttbers of the Morrinsville Croquet Club in the Contest for the Howie trophy, the final of which was won by Mrs. Philpott after a game with Mrs. Anderson which lasted three hours. Results :— Mrs. Anderson heat Mnsdrtmes Butler, Hawkins, Donald and McKay; Mrs. PhilpGtt beat Mesdames Butler. Hawkins. Donald and McKay: Mrs. Butler beat Mesdames Hawkins, Donald and McKay; Mrs. McKay beat Mesdames Hawkins and Donald ; Mrs. Hawkins beat Mrs. Donald. Flnftl: Mrs. philpott boat Mfg. Anderson, 26-24. The handicap singles competition for the Philpott trophy, B grade, was won by Mrs. Meharry.
