TROTTING.

WHEEL AND TRACK NOTES. (By ORION.) SEASON'S FIXTURES. February 11— N.Z. Metropolitan T.C. February 18, 22—Otahuhu Trotting Club. February 2o—Kaikoura Trotting Club. March 2—Marlborough Trotting Club. Alafch 2, 3—lnvercargill Trotting Club. March 3—Waikato Trotting Club. Match 7—Manawatu Trotting Club. Starch 8. 10—Timaru Trotting Club March 14—Wyndham Trotting Club. March 15, 17 —New Brighton T.C. Guy Parish has resumed work, and it is reported that his legs are better than ever. He is a good liorse. Mr. Moodabe has had several inquiries for Amaris, but so far the price asked has not led to business. Chessey has been a long time in work, and he has done nothing on the track to suggest he can bo regarded as an early winner. The Cold Bell pacer, Gold Circle, has occasionally shown pace in his races, but he would want to stay on better to win a race at Otahuhu.

The appeal of F. Holmes against his three months' disqualification meted out to ihim at Forbury Park will be heard by the Board of the New Zealand Trottifig Association next week.

It is expected the appointments of two stipendiary stewards will be ann6unced this week-end. At present there afe four in the running, including two Aucklanders, Messrs. Re id and Commons.

Van Rich (Dyer) and Napland (Kinnamont) put in an attractive mile and a-quarter at Epsom this morning. Van Rich went in saddle, while Napland trotted in something like his very best style.

Mr. <T. A. Mitchell has that smart pair Loch Moigh and Padlock booked to compete at Otahuhu. Padlock has now fast time against him, but Loch Moigh is still on a handy mark to continue in winning vein.

If Roma Bingen Wbiild go as solid id a race as she does in training, she would soon win a race. The bay mart; had the speed on this morning for a mile and a-half, and driven by H. Kinnamont, she only made one mistake.

G. Robertson has Great Ballin coming along nicely. This good-looking pacer worked out a mile and a-half on Saturday with Salgana, and lie was With her all through. The pace was fairly solid, and the workout a good one.

Jewel Wave only recently joined G. Robertson's team, but already the chestnut has brightened up considerably. This trotter has not yet been asked to go fast, but trots solidly, and looks like coming good with a bit more work.

A. Bryce is beginning to run Kohara along in view of his Otahuhu Cup engagement. This morning the sbn of Cathedral Chimes was strapped up and sent a mile and a-half with Money Spider. The pair liit out very freely, and the workout from a time basis was satisfactory.

Buz Buz has been going along quietly ill her work, and driven by E. Chitliam the bay mare pi,ced a couple of miles thiß morfring free-legged without putting a foOt wrong. She did not finish up as strongly as she might have, but the run would di> hfir good.

Dad's Hope, whose best performance so far in Aucklahd is a second to Bingen King at the Northern meeting, has been inclined to hitch when going fast, but he paced very evenly this morning with the hopples oh, when working & mile and a-half. W. Clifton has the chestnut looking Well.

Great Actress, who failed badly at Alexandra Park at the mummer meeting, is booked to come up for the Otahuhxt fixture. The bay mare showed heaps ©f speed for a mile.and a half, and as she is now engaged in races over twelve and ten furlongs she may be hard to beat as she is a great beginner.

Explosion is well engaged at the Otahuhu meeting, and if the chestnut is stepped out he is bound to carry support. In his last Start at the Northland meeting ihe was successful, but opinions differ whether he won easily or not. It will be interesting to see how he gets on in a bit better company at Alexandra PaTk.

Mr. G. McMillan's smart filly Haydock, who was mated with Nelson Bingen, is to be put into training again next season. McMillan considers Haydock ono of the smartest three-year-olds ever produced in the Dominion, but she Was unreliable at the barrier, and this fault invariably spoiled her chances in a race. It Ss hoped that after producing a foal she will settle down.
