ELLINGTON, this day. j The Government has been advised jthat a limited number of cadetships to jthe Royal Military Academy, at Woolwich, and the Royal Military College, 'Sandhurst, ;jre available to young New Zealanders. on the nomination of the (Governor-General. These cadetships are granted for the purpose of training officers for the British Regular Army. Definite regulations governing the admission of candidates by nomination to the colleges have been laid down by the Army Council, and only those candidates | who fulfil these conditions will be eligible for nomination. Cadetships are ° not jopen to the sons of parents whose connection with New Zealand is merely ■ temporary or official. The course of injstruetion lasts eighteen months, and the jnext course begins on September 1. Applications must be in by February 1,3. Candidates must be between IS and 19 years of age on July 1. ! Parents have to pay the cost of their isons' passage to England, fees amounting to £12.3 per annum, and personal expenses during vacations.
