FURTHER REDUCTION OF ID.

WAITEMATA BOARDS PROPOSAL.

A further reduction of Id a unit in electric light charges is proposed by the Waitemata Electric Power Board."

This intimation -was given at today's meeting of the board by the chairman, Mr. J. W. Hayden, when stressing upon members the importance of a meeting of the Finance Committee, scheduled for next Fridav.

In respect to the notice of motion suggesting the reduction, be said he was anxious that the matter should be thoroughly thrashed out by the committee, for the question was not one of policy but of finance. The reduction would be the means of '"'jiving back" to the consumers a sum o; between £3500 and £4000.

Following the discussion on the subject by the committee, their report would be circularised among members so that ample notice of any suggestions to be raised at the next meeting of the board would be given.
