"EUGENIC MATING."

WEALTHY WIDOWS WISH

NEW YORK, January 27

While American eugenic officials frown on wealthy Mrs. Grace Burnham"s socayed "eugenic mating" as unfair in consideration of the child, numerous moderns defend the woman's action.

Not desiring to remarry, or adopt a child from an institution, she decided "to employ a young man of good health, good family, and good character" to be the father of her child.

It is asserted that Mrs. Burnham did this with the sympathy and approval of her father, Dr. Max Mailhouse, neurologist and professor emeritus, of Yale Universitv.

Mrs. Burnham will now probably legally adopt her own new-born child in order to ensure its inheritance of her large estate.
